Kehadiran K-pop di kancah musik global terus meningkat, dan VMA tahun ini mencerminkan tren tersebut.
“Pada 1 September, VMA mengumumkan nominasi tahun ini untuk Song of Summer, Show of the Summer, Group of the Year, dan Album of the Year. Untuk Group of the Year, 5 dari 8 nominasi adalah idola K-pop,” demikian seperti dilansir dari Allkpop, Selasa (5/9/2023).

Grup K-pop yang dinominasikan termasuk BLACKPINK, FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, Seventeen, dan TXT. Sebelumnya, BTS berhasil meraih penghargaan ‘Group of the Year’ selama empat tahun berturut-turut.
